Our Littlest Angel Allie...turns 2!

Happy birthday to our little angel Allie. Readers of this blog may be wondering what I'm on while publicly admitting that Allie's an angel. She's had her way and fought tooth and nail for her way up to this point in time but you know what? I love that about her. However,I was surprised to see her crawling up in a chair recently to "read" a book in the corner by herself and not run around with sissy. Just sitting over there reading away while others passed her by, content be a sweet little quiet nerd. She really likes to read books and she's really great at pointing out things when asked where they are in the books. She also loves her "Mitty!" It's a pink blankie that has turned from a not really necesary item in Allie's life to her entire life revolving around this thing. Sissy has a blanket called the "blue Mitty" and so in turn, Allie's is her Mitty. She's always loved blankets and cuddling. That's my favorite thing about her right now is that she'll come and cuddle still and I know that that is a thing that flees quickly and so I'll take it while it's being offered. I'm so excited that it's her birthday today. I just love this kid to death. We are so grateful for her in our lives and want her to know that she's an incredibly special and funny kiddo. Happy birthday goober!

I was on the news last night.

!
So, I read dooce.com regularly and now I've finished her new book titled, "It sucked, and then I cried." I LOVE the way that Heather is so open and honest and speaks freely about things in life that aren't always easy to share with others. I went down to SLC last night to see her do some readings from the book and her blog and to also get my copy of the book signed. As I was standing in line in the quaint little book shop, a Fox 13 news guy was trying to get past the display of books and me to get to Heather and he stopped and started asking if anyone would like to share their comments. He kind of looked around and then honed in on me and I was all ummm...well, I don't know what to say but if you ask me a question I can answer it. So, he did and I guess I made the cut.

Anyone who wants to hear a truely open and honest and funny story about new motherhood should really check out her book and or blog. To see her blog go here Just a note, however, because she's so honest, she has well, let's just say a very colorful vocabulary and uses it in her book and often in her blog but if you're okay with that, then go for it. The book made me laugh and also cry. It was a lot of fun to read.

If you want to see the newsclip go here.

DIG LADIES!

So, my cousin joined a gym and she gave them my name for a free 2 week trial. Last Wednesday night, we met up at the spin class to give it a shot. I'd never done an actual spin class before but I had spun at home on my spunning machine ahem, stationary bike- which btw, is nothing like a spin bike. The handles on the spin bike move and the bikes have to be fine tuned to your body before you begin the class. Plus, the spin bike has the resistance of a stubborn mule if you push it hard enough and the spin instructor asked us to kick that stubborn mule across the room in the class. Man, was it hard. It was sooo worth it though! At the end of the class, the instructor told us that if we kept up with her, which was not at all easy to do, we'd have burned about 830 or some odd calories. WOW! 8 hundred and thirty! Yep. So, what'd I do? Went home and ate dinner.

Fun class Cind! Thanks!

Look at me..

Thanks goes out to Aunt Marilyn who keeps sending me awesome old photo's. Isn't technology wonderful? Especially, since my grandpa Merlin LOVED taking photo's and they're all being converted now. Such fun!All I can say is that my mom should have dressed me in pink EVERY. SINGLE. MOMENT. Because I looked like a boy!
Do you see my sister poking her cute little head in there? She's kind of camouflaged in there with the outstanding wallpaper. I think it's high time to wallpaper our entire house just like this.

Ready or not, here I come...

Tonight E convinced me to play hide and seek with her and Allie. I honestly forgot how much I loved this game growing up. It was one of my all-time favorites! I found it just as much fun tonight. E has gotten to an age where she gets it and will chose pretty good hiding places. A on the other hand, just kept ratting out all my good hiding spots. I finally figured out that I had to hurry and hide A and then find me a good spot too, in a 20 second time span.
When I was a kid, I don't know what it was about that game that made me need to pee, but EVERY single time I played, in the midst of hiding, I'd all the sudden need to pee THAT second. I remember holding it so many times while I was in great hiding spots. So, guess who had to go to the bathroom tonight while we were playing? Nope, not me. Ellyse. I guess she got that from me. :)
I noticed a few things that made the game so much fun and I wanted to record them. When I was first taking Allie with me into our hiding spots (we were a team) I kept shushing her and telling her to be quiet. Anyone who knows A, knows that no one tells her what to do. She kept whining a little bit and then sooner or later she'd shush me. THAT was darling! I tried to illustrate that on the video above but as you can tell, A's more interested in the camera than in being in the shot. Sorry.

Our rules involved hiding upstairs only, and evertime E would hide in a room with a door, she'd shut it. Cute. She only thought it was extra protection against being seen. But we always just knew which room she was in.

Allie also did something else super cute and that was when she and I were counting she'd go up against the wall and put her elbows up on the wall and put her hands over her eyes and face the wall and count one, tue, phree.

Fun time with my girls. I'm super glad E convinced me to play.

Love you girls!

When E saw the video that I posted a week ago

I guess since I have a freed up night since Ugly Betty's off air, I use it to record our children. After begging yet again,to see the video I posted a week ago tonight, I decided to tape her watching herself and Allie. She doesn't know that I'm taping her. Apparently, this is the most amusing video she's ever seen.
