Something a little different...

Last night I was able to participate in a different experience, especially living here in Utah.  I got to be part of a select group of people to try out a workout by one of the producers or behind the scenes trainer (???) of the Biggest Loser!  We also met the man who produced "The Sandlot" and some other movies.

My friend Tiffany is invovled with Isagenix and her team was invited and they were told to bring some friends.  She takes my dance class and spread the invitation to us.

It was basically a sales pitch for this new exersice DVD series coming out by Body Bare.  The DVD is called BIOHIIT.  Which stands for Biofeedback Hight Intesity Interval Training.  We got to exercise with that Biggest Loser trainer for about 20-30 minutes and it was a lot of fun!  I was dripping sweat by the end but, then again, I sweat like a pig so that doesn't give you a proper perspective of how hard it was.  It was a bit like the Insanity workouts from what I hear.  Hit it hard and fast and then rest etc.

They had camera's on the scene and took a lot of footage.  I was on the front row so who knows, perhaps I will make it onto their infomercial or something... It was a fun, different activity that was exciting to be a part of.

They are having a contest where you can win airfare and hotel accomodations to LA to film another DVD with them.  There will be 18 finalists chosen in the body transformation contest. Go here for more info:http://store.bodybarefitness.com/index.php/featured-products/biohiit-pilot-program.html

Gold Dig..St. Patrick's Day.

Saturday morning we went to our local recreation center for a St. Patrick's Day Gold Dig.

The lifeguards threw floaty balls, real, and fake coins into the pool. Then each age group had a few minutes to jump in the pool and grab what they could. They would refresh the supplies in between each age group. It was a pretty cute idea and fun way to celebrate a pretty regular holiday.

I love me some great organizational skills.  This team had them!  Yay for organization! :)

There was quite the crowd.  See the two "leprachuns" at the front of the crowd?  They were warming us up by telling us different St. Patty's day jokes.
Knock, Knock.
Who's there?
Irish.
Irish, Who?
Irish you a happy St. Patrick's Day. hahahahahaha. :)
                                                                        Setting up...
About to jump in.  The littlest ones got to go in first.
They both got a couple of balls and several fake green coins.
Then they brought out balloons, chocolate coins, and treat baggies that had really cute St. Patty's day paraphanalia in it.  They even got two free admission tickets to come back again.  All for just $3.00/child.  What a deal!

After the dig was over there was a family swim until the alloted "dig" time was up.  We spent a little while in the "warm place" (sauna) before heading home.  Fun morning!!  Happy St. Patty's day!
Pardon the non focused video.  With all the waves, my camera wouldn't focus well.  The first group is Ellyse's and the second is Allie's.  You'll have to look pretty hard to recognize which kids are ours. :)

Farewell to you..

On Monday evening, we were able to see Margaret and Ben off at the airport.  They left for their mission to Kuala Lampur/Singapore/Borneo.  It was so neat to be a part of sending them off.  I'm kind of a camera freak so I just snap away at things like this so, instead of listing them all here, I thought I'd make a movie out of the photos. Sorry for the bad quality photos.  I guess you all need to band together and buy me a better iphone. :)

Annnd...here.we.go....

We just received news that they are finally there.  It took them a few days to get all their traveling done.
One of the several flights they had to take lasted 15 hours.  15!!!  Yikes!

We love you guys and wish you the best!!!

Ice Skating

Last weekend we were able to take the girls ice skating for their first time.  We've been meaning to get there for a while because they earned it by reading their scriptures.  Unfortunately, it took us a while to finally fulfill their request.
It's pretty cool to have something like this so close to home!
Ellyse absolutely LOVED it.  Allie, not so much.

Allie was basically screaming for about 70% of the time.  I thought I'd be able to get some photos out on the ice. May be even a video but I was so busy helping Allie avoid screaming and watching Ellyse excel that I didn't get much of a chance. It took Allie quite a bit of time to be able to skate by just holding hands. I figured out that if I held her in between my legs while skating, she could actually enjoy it a bit more. :)

Ellyse keeps asking when we can go again. It makes me happy to know that she likes ice skating. When we have asked her in the past if she'd like to do some of the normal kid activities like soccer, tumbling, etc. she's not always been so willing.

Ellyse may even be taking lessons here soon.  I'd love for her to have to earn some of the money for the lessons so she's more motivated. I'm not quite sure how to go about this though.  Any ideas are welcome.

Bday Celebrations

This year was another wonderful birthday celebration!  I LOVE my birthdays and so I'm super happy that I have others around that make it special for me. My parents and the Wood's helped out so much with keeping the kids overnight and planning special things for me! And Jason usually outdoes himself too. I'm truly blessed!

Let's begin with Jason's date.  Before we got engaged, he planned a date where we were going to play raquetball.  I had always told my Heavenly Father that I needed to be knocked upside the head with who I needed to marry.  As we were playing raquetball that day long ago, he hit me in the head on accident with the ball.  He quickly came and consoled me with a hug and said he was sorry.  That was the moment I knew he was the one for me. :)

Well, fast forward 11 years and some odd months later, we were playing raquetball to celebrate my birthday and I ended up hitting him in the head with the ball this time around.  Funny how Karma works. Either that or raquetball is just a very violent sport.  We then got all gussied up and he took me down to the Cheesecake Factory. YUMMMMMMMM! So worth the hour and 35 minute wait!!
Listen to what was ordered..Appetizer..Thai lettuce wraps...Entree...Pasta Da Vinci ..Dessert...Ultimate Red Velvet Cheesecake. Um, yeah.  Amazing!!  So incredibly stuffed at the end!  It was delish and also very expensive.  We probably won't be heading back there for a long time but it was a nice way to celebrate!!!

My mom and I hung out and shopped on my actual birthday.  It was so nice!  I love hanging with my mom.  We were able to hang out all day and go to a long lunch at Sandy's.  When we came out of the parking lot, my mom spotted this eager pooch awaiting it's owner's return.  We hit a few more shops and then I went home.......
.....To this!!!  32 Balloons all with notes inside telling me how they loved me.  How amazing is that?  Totally and 100%!  We headed out to eat at Zupas and then I got to organize my closet with all my new clothes from the day. Awesome!

Then later on that week, the Wood's took us out to dinner at TGIFridays and to see the movie "This means War."  It was a lot of fun and really wonderful to hang out with all the most important people in my life.  Thanks so much for making it so special!!

This wasn't on my birthday but I figure it was a late gift.  Allie fell asleep on me while we were watching a show. Loved it!
Thanks again to everyone for all the birthday calls, wishes, and such!  It truly made my day so much better!

Valentines Day 2012

Unlike my husband who calls it "that stupid day,"  I happen to rather like Valentines day!
I was excited to try butternut squash soup for the first time ever.  I did that for Jason.  I'm not a huge fan but knew he liked it.  See?  He should be happy about this day right?! :)

And he didn't just get soup. He got a roast as well as potatoe wedges and I even took the time to make some low cal jello dessert.  Since we're trying to be good and lose some excess weight, I thought we needed something, just something with not a lot of calories in it.

The girls got a fun little heart hunt that evening.  Just filled with candy.

Do you see all that decor? Those are some MAD decorating skills..Ha, ha. He should be so lucky! ;)

All joking aside, he did have a rather not fun day/evening up until dinnertime so I give him credit for being a good sport and hanging with us anyhow.

He even gave me the lovely lily plant in the middle.  See, he's nice even on his "stupid day."

These little ones loved coming home to a decorated table and fun low-cal desserts in cups. :)
Man, I am so lucky to have all of my lovies in my life to celebrate Valentimes (as Allie calls it) with!
