Grand Teton, Yellowstone, and Jackson Trip

Sorry these are all in crazy order but like I mentioned before...blogger=butthead! We had a great time visiting the three areas. We stayed in tent cabins in Grand Tetons and then in cute little cabins in Jackson.

We brought Sadie along. As you'll see down below, she got a little too close to some of the wildlife than she migt like. There were horse stables down by the tent cabins that you could walk too. The girls and I went visited them with Sadie. It was so funny to see her react to the horses. Sadie's 'herding' instinct would push her toward the horses and I had to remind her not to mess with them on several occasions. It was so interesting to see the leaders of the pack come out to defend their herds. It was obvious which horses were in charge. Surpisingly, they were all women horses. Interesting.

We played at the lake one day. I again entertained myself with the camera. :) It was fun to see the girls having such a great time with their dad and grandad. Once again, Brent took the girls out the 'island.' They loved it and were able to be the holders of the coveted walkie talkie...until they dropped it in the lake.

The girls enjoyed the antlers in Jackson a lot!! The hour long wait to get into a Mexican restaraunt named after pigs...not so much.
We appreciate the time the Wood's take out of their schedule to plan, participate, and invite us to come along with them on vacations!!

Grace's Home.

Soon after my grandma had passed away, I still had a key to her home. I stopped in her house soon after she passed, to look around one last time. I had myself a good cry right then and there. I will always have that day in my memory. I still dream of that house quite a bit. It amazes me how much homes become almost a living breathing part of the people who live in it. I did not think to take the time to take photo's or a video to look back on in the years to come. I could kick myself for not doing this. So, when grandma Grace passed, I knew I had to do this. Here's to the memories:

Ellyse turns 9! Fun at the park.

Blogger sure is being a butthole! I can't seem to do nearly what I used to be able to do. It's probably my computer... but still. In order to get any sort of break in between what should be paragraphs, I have to use photos. Good thing I have lots of those. Ellyse had her 9th birthday recently and instead of a party, they were allowed a late night. Late night is what the kids are calling it now a days. In my day, it was a sleepover. I didn't allow any 'late night' activities because my kids get cranky if they don't get enough sleep. So, what would that be called?
Ellyse asked for her cousins to be the lucky ones to get to sleep over. We got some pizza and Slurpees and headed to a park that has a splash pad incorportated into it. Unfortunately, we got there a little too late and the splash pad was closed for the night. Not to worry, kids with cups and access to water will improvise. Needless to say, I had lots of fun with the cool camera app on my phone. Here's the evidence.
Some random kids got in on the action. Heck, I don't blame them. They were having loads of fun! Plus, a cute dog was involved. :)
Doesn't fun just ooze out of these pictures? You can tell they had an absolute blast!

We sure love having you around miss Ellyse! You brighten our days and have a way of making the best out of any situation given to you. We treasure you my sweet and are so happy you had a wonderful celebration!
